★★★★★ THE STAGE

'As sex enters the relationship in both happy and unsettling ways, the cracks between the wooden floorboards in Niall McKeever’s set glow beneath them with pink or a sick green. Just below that floor, a mess of debris is visible, which is, thematically, where the play heads. Yellowman is painful and pessimistic, but two decades after it first appeared, it’s much more than just compelling in Page’s production: it’s undeniable. '

★★★★★ AFRIDIZIAK

'Set in the round on a naked wooden square floor, designer Niall McKeever kept the stage simple, so that the actors had nowhere to hide.'

★★★★★ NORTH WEST END

'Diane Page (Director) along with Nial Mckeever (Designer) and Rajiv Pattani (Lighting Designer), have crafted an environment for the two actors Aaron Anthony (Eugene) and Nadine Higgin (Alma) to connect deeply with the audience on a very personal and intimate level, eye to eye, and with total commitment to their characters.  There are so many different layers within this production and the production team have crafted a truly artistic canvas on which Orlandersmith’s words can stand proud.'

MARK ASPEN

'Where everything depends on the superficial and what is, literally, skin deep, Niall McKeever’s set, a smooth, dark floor is skewed slightly to reveal the rubbish and dust-covered empty bottles and detritus cluttered underneath. '
